Have you ever thought of seeking the difference between creativity, innovation, invention and novelty, if you have always thought these concepts are the same you are lucky to have a chance to read my post. It is correct to relate them, but wrong to replace one with the other. Creativity is the mental and physical process of generating our imaginations into extremely new ideas, where as Innovation is the physical ability to produce something new. The main difference between these concepts is that creativity is immeasurable, cannot be seen it’s on the mind and innovation is measurable, can be seen physically.
Invention is simply a term used to refer to a new discovery of making products. It is related to creativity in the sense that it is an internal thought of ideas. Inventions are mostly used by scholars to explain a certain issue in the society, they are mostly theoretical. A good example of a well known invention is the Theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin. Novelty is related to innovation. It is the development of an idea into a tangible commodity. Examples of novelties are novels; in design are greeting cards, calendars and logs to mention a few. Novelties are mostly personal or specific within a certain group of society.
