Juxtaposition

As all of you know juxtaposition means an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, esp. for comparison or contrast or the state of being close together or side by side. Fundamentally Juxtaposition is a circumstance where two unlike things are next to one another. It has a quality of being unexpected. A teacup and its saucer are expected. A kitty cat that is reflected in a mirror looking like a Lion is not. As I understood basically is about contrast. Based on the literary contrast is a relationship between two discourse segments. Contrast is often overtly marked by markers such as but, or however.
Based on my research on the internet we have also another kind of juxtaposition, it called random juxtaposition. Random juxtaposition refers to the stimulation of creativity in problem solving, design or other creative pursuit by confronting two unrelated concepts or objects, usually the goal or problem to be solved on the one hand and a randomly selected object or concept on the other.
